The entity in Ireland serves as Harvard University’s representative in the European Union (EU) to maintain compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Protecting Data and Enabling Compliance for Information Processing

Harvard University recognizes the importance of upholding regulations, guidelines, and best practices regarding individuals’ privacy rights and how their personal data is handled. Harvard Global Research Support Centre Ireland DAC serves as the University’s representative in the EU and enables Harvard to maintain compliance with GDPR. GDPR applies to Harvard’s European Economic Area-based affiliates, offices, and operations, as well as Harvard’s activities outside the EEA that impact the personal data of individuals located in the EEA.

If you’re located in a country outside of the US that has enacted a personal data protection law entitling you to make a data deletion request or other data subject rights request, complete the GDPR Data Subjects Rights Request Form.
