Our Irish entity serves as Harvard University’s European Union (EU) representative for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Enabling Harvard's Data Security and Privacy Compliance
Established in 2020, Harvard Global Research Support Centre Ireland DAC serves as Harvard University’s authorized representative in the EU to maintain compliance with GDPR. GDPR requires legal representation in the EU for organizations that collect and use data within the scope of the regulation. The regulation applies to Harvard’s European Economic Area (EEA)-based affiliates, offices, and operations, as well as Harvard’s activities outside the EEA that impact the personal data of individuals located in the EEA.
Harvard Global Services in Ireland
GDPR representation is the only service our Irish entity actively provides to Harvard University. We’re exploring other opportunities in Ireland and the EU to support Harvard’s activities and research in region.
